Listen LIVE! to the Illinois Symphony Orchestra: Green Eggs & Ham (10:00am Thursday, Sangamon Auditorium, SPRINGFIELD & 10:00am & 12:00pm Friday, Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts, BLOOMINGTON)
The Illinois Symphony Orchestra, led by Music Director Ken Lam, is joined by Michael Boudewyns as Sam-I-Am, and Kimberly Schroeder as Madame Theodora Geiselevska in Green Eggs & Ham. This classic story will come to life with the unstoppable Sam-I-Am in a musical feast for your ears!
Tickets may be purchased in Springfield through the Sangamon Auditorium Ticket Office at (217) 206-6160 or online at and in Bloomington through the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts Ticket Office at (309) 434-2777. Tickets are $6 per person. For classrooms and/or schools attending the concert, there should be one chaperon for every 15 students; every 16th ticket is complimentary. Go to for more information.

Central Illinois Wine Festival and Illinois Bicentennial Celebration (11:30am; Central Illinois Dragway, 12016 North County Road 1650E, HAVANA)
Come Celebrate the Illinois Bicentennial and Wine Festival with us. Plenty of Family Activities including a Movie in the Park, Outdoor Rock Concert with the Justin Sider Band (70's. 80's, and 90's Cover Band), Bags Tournament, RC Airplane Show, and much more! Every Hour we will be celebrating a local Community and their History! Parking is only $2 per vehicle. Free Camping begins May 4th at 10:00 pm. Come Camp with us through the weekend! Wine, Beer, and food will be available for purchase. Event T-Shirts will be sold for $10 each. Souvenir Wine Glasses will be sold for $5 each. On Site ATM Machine for your convenience. 2nd Annual Wacky Wheelers Parade (1:00 - 3:00pm; Lincoln Park, 4th St. and E. Black Ave., SPRINGFIELD)
Decorate your bike for the 3 contest categories; Best of Illinois - Creature, Oddity, History. Get a free helmet from HSHS for the group ride celebrating with prizes and popsicles. Illinois Representative Tim Butler will be the grand marshall. Rain date is May 20. Email to volunteer or be a sponsor.

Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom (IAITC) 5K Grow & Go (7:30am; Illinois Farm Bureau Headquarters, 1701 Towanda Ave., BLOOMINGTON)
Ready, Set, Go & Grow! The IAA Foundation proudly presents its 8th Annual 5K Grow & Go to celebrate Illinois farm families and the important role they play in putting food on your table. Learn more about our roots in agriculture while supporting a great cause. Proceeds from this race benefit Illinois Ag in the Classroom (IAITC), a program that provides free resources to teachers in an effort to help students make the connection between food, fiber, fuel & farming.

Event Logisitics: Accurately measured course has a cross-country feel with well maintained grass, pavement and a few rolling hills. Finishing times & results provided by the Lake Run Club of Bloomington/Normal. Pre-Registered runners receive a t-shirt and a healthy, hot breakfast after the race.
Want "free" registration? Run and go the extra mile to support IAITC by becoming a 5K Grow & Go Hero, Sponsored by GROWMARK. Raise $75 or more to receive Free Registration, a "hero t-shirt" and an Ag Book to donate to the school/library of your choice and day of recognition.
Unique to the event is a 1/4 mile "Kids Race" sponsored by the IAA Credit Union, for children 10 & under. All children receive an award a healthy, hot breakfast and opportunity to take part in hands on learning activities.
Post-Race, join us for an indoor open house featuring interactive learning stations from IAITC program, hot breakfast and awards ceremony.
