Recent Rains Increase Soil Moisture Across Illinois
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WRSP/WICS) —
All the rain we've seen lately has increased the soil moisture across the state.
Soil moisture levels are important to farmers as they make decisions about crops.
The highest increases in soil moisture levels were in the southern part of the state where levels increased an average of 71 percent.
The Illinois State Water Survey's Warm Program collects hourly and daily weather and soil information at 19 stations.
