Durbin on Illinois Job Growth

Updated: Saturday, July 26 2014, 09:52 PM CDT

ILLINOIS -- It's clear that some folks are fed up with lower wages and work conditions, but what about you? How do you feel about the business climate in Illinois? You just might be "Illinoiyed." Indiana sure hopes so.
You may have seen it by now or at least heard of the billboard on Interstate72.

Asking drivers if they are "Illinoyed by high taxes" and if so, invites them to head over to Indiana. But US Senator Dick Durbin says there's hope. The Illinois can compete.

"We won a major contract from Bloomington-Normal for several hundred jobs and we were competing with Indianapolis so I stand behind our workers and our state when it comes to business climate but we can make it better," says Durbin.

He went on to say that the state has to address the budget and credit rating. But he also says the state pension is the root of the problem.
