'BikeMoves Illinois' puts cyclists on the map
URBANA, ILL. (WCCU) —
Biking in Champaign County is on a path of innovation.
The County Regional Planning Commission has a new app- just for bikers!
The app is called ‘BikeMoves Illinois’ and aims to improve bike routes in the community.
Riders using the app will be able to submit their recorded routes to city planners.
The lead app developer Matt Yoder said now is the perfect time to download the app, especially if you're a new rider.
"The weather is great right now so it’s a great time to be out biking,” Yoder said. “We are hoping that with people coming back to school, coming back to campus, folks who maybe have never thought about biking before will use this as a way to get started."
On the app, cyclists can find info on bike paths, parking, and bicycle-friendly businesses.
BikeMoves Illinois is a free app, available for download on the Google Play Store and the IOS App Store.
