Two Illinois lawmakers filed legislation that allow motorists to have the option to register their vehicles for more than one year at a time.

Senator Dan McConchie's bill would begin in 2020 with registration up to five years and the price per year would be the same allowing drivers to pay up front.

Representative Mark Batinick's bill would begin in 2019 with registration between two to five years and there would be an additional $10 fee for every year that is more than one.
