Champaign And Vermilion County Unemployment Rates Rising
CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCCU) —
More than half of Illinois’ metro areas have fewer jobs than a year ago, including Champaign and Vermilion counties.
Champaign county's unemployment rate has risen to 6 percent over the past year, up from 5.8 percent.
Unemployment in Vermilion County has gone up by almost half a percent, climbing to 8.6 percent.
Champaign County has added 700 non-farming jobs in the past year, but vermilion county has lost 200.
