Chatham Jaycees Oktoberfest: Food, beer and fun all for a good cause
CHATHAM, Ill. (WRSP) —
It was a day full of German culture, Saturday.
The Chatham Jaycees held its all-day 5th Annual Oktoberfest.
The event started at 11 a.m. in downtown Chatham where everyone could find authentic German food, beer and music.
It ended at 11 p.m.
Organizers say it is the closest you'll get to an actual German Oktoberfest.
The event is not only a fun time, but for a good cause.
"We raise money for the Jaycees and 100 percent of the proceeds from this event and from the Sweetcorn Festival go back into the community," said chairmen Jeremy Ackerman and Nick Trotter.
The money raised will go to parks in the area, scholarships for students and clothes for kids.
