Deer strolls into P & M Communications in Lincoln, damages building
LINCOLN, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) —
A curious deer made its way into P & M Communications in Lincoln, leaving behind significant store damages Monday morning.
A motion sensor had been tripped from within the store the morning before owner Bob Metz went into work. However, the door sensor had not been tripped, which indicated the intruder was a little out of the ordinary.
Lincoln police said a deer jumped through the window of the store to enter and ran around, spraying blood everywhere before a witness saw it jump out and run back down the street.
Due to the deer's injuries, it was put down.
Metz said he was lucky there wasn't too much damage to the merchandise itself. However, there were significant damages to the building.
Currently, everything is fixed in the store except a plywood sheet on the window while waiting for a replacement.
