Gov. Rauner Continues to push for Turnaround Reforms
QUINCY, Ill. (WRSP) —
Governor Bruce Rauner was in Quincy Monday, again pushing for the turnaround reforms he's been pursuing for two years now.
The Governor's push comes after the Senate's Grand Bargain was halted because republicans pulled their support.
The Governor said without a growing economy, Illinois won't be able to get out of its cycle of spending more than the state takes in.
Governor Rauner is still urging the Senate to work on the Grand Bargain, but democrats said it's up to him to allow republicans to take the votes.
The house and senate are back in session Tuesday.
There are no plans at the moment to move forward on the Grand Bargain.
