Judge grants extension on indictment of Clarence men in mosque bombing
CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCCU) —
A federal judge has granted prosecutors an extension to indict three Clarence men for allegedly bombing a mosque in Minnesota last summer.
Judge Franklin l. Noel of Minnesota has given prosecutors a 60-day extension to indict Michael McWhorter, Michael Hari and Joe Morris.
All three Clarence men are accused of bombing the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in Minnesota last August.
They’re currently being held in Champaign County under a weapons charge.
The attorneys filed the motion on Friday citing the complexity of the cases and the distance between the attorneys and the three men.
