Judge To Hear Arguments From The "Pay Now Coalition"
Chicago (WRSP) —
A Cook County judge will hear arguments next month over the impact of the yearlong budget impasse.
Nearly 100 social service groups sued Governor Rauner’s administration, saying they worked without payment during the standoff.
The “Pay Now Coalition” says it is owed an estimated $160million and wants the court to force payment.
It claims the stopgap budget passed by lawmakers isn’t enough and many groups face financial catastrophe.
The hearing is set for August 31st.
