Local businesses met to discuss economic growth for the year
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WRSP) —
Businesses around Sangamon County met up Tuesday for the annual Economic Outlook Breakfast.
The event is hosted by the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce at UIS.
The point of the meeting is to unveil the results from the fall 2017 Sangamon County Economic Outlook survey where businesses in the area talk about their expectations of economic growth for the year.
"This often times spurs conversation but spurs activity,” said president and CEO of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce Chris Hembrough. “It acts as kind of gas on the fire, fuel to the fire. What do we need to do to improve our economy, to grow our economy, to grow capital investments and jobs?"
Businesses like bank agencies, insurance companies, and hospitals were all in attendance.
There are over 400 results from the survey.
