Local father hopes to break the silence on teen suicide
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCCU) —
A father reaches out to the community in hopes of breaking the silence on suicide in teens.
After the death of his daughter, Sebastian Klein sparked a movement to bring suicide to the community's attention.
Just two days after his daughter’s death the Angel Forever Foundation was born.
The goal of the foundation is to enhance awareness in parents and teens of the signs and risks of mental health and suicide.
Klein shared the story of Angel through pictures and emotional posts from her social media.
"Suicide awareness has been sugar-coated for so many years and I think something like this that really just hits you, I think it’s really going to make people think a lot more about what’s going on," father and founder of the Angel Forever Foundation Sebastian Klein shared.
Klein said there is a lack of support in the community for coping with suicide and suicide prevention.
He hopes to take this crusade into schools and around the area to increase support and knowledge for suicide.
