Local NASCAR Driver Makes It To Victory Lane

After nearly a five-year drought, Justin Allgaier, a local NASCAR driver, finally got to visit victory lane.

He says, after the dry spell, it feels great to finally bring a win back home to central Illinois in just the fourth race of the season.

Allgaier and his team are starting a new tradition; they'll be hanging a checkered flag at the Brandt offices, his racing sponsor, on Koke Mill for every win, which they hope happens regularly.

"It doesn’t mean we can relax by any means, but it's definitely really cool to kick off the season that way and get started with a high note. Obviously the support of everybody at the race team, everybody with the team has done a great job."

Allgaier will race again this weekend in Fontana, California.
