Missing Urbana man found
URBANA, Ill. (WRSP/WICS) —
The Urbana Police Department reports that missing endangered adult Albert "Gene" Moews has been located. No further details have been provided at this time as to where he was found.
At approximately 4:45 PM, the Urbana Police Department was notified about a missing person.
An officer met with the reporting person at Carle Hospital and learned that a subject was missing from Carle Hospital for approximately 2 hours.
Officers obtained information on the missing person and have been coordinating with hospital staff to search the grounds.
Officers have also searched the area around Carle Hospital.
The missing person has yet to be located.
The missing person, Albert “Gene” Moews, is a 76-year-old man.
Moews has dementia and has no ties to the Champaign-Urbana area.
Moews is described as a white male, 5’08” tall, heavy build, bald, last seen wearing a black jacket, gray pants, and black shoes. Moews has no access to a vehicle, a bus pass, or any other obvious means of transportation. It is unclear if Moews has cash with him, but if he does it will be only a very modest amount.
The community is asked to report any contact with Moews from this afternoon or any sighting of him this evening to the Urbana Police Department at 217-384-2320 or METCAD 911 by calling either 217-333-8911 or 911.
