New Community Center Feeding Positive Influences Into Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WRSP) —
Sunday was just the beginning for the East Side Community and Development Center.
They held a dedication service for their newest addition to the community.
City officials and other community influences were there to talk about how they can make the east side of Springfield a better place.
Organizers say they just want to be an influential impact to kids' lives.
"The more we have that is positive for them, the less negativity they will be getting into," said Juquita Williams with Eastside Community Center.
The community center is designed for the youth of Springfield, and offers after school tutoring, computer classes, and even a GED program.
The center is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 3-6 p.m.
