New Plans To Develop A New Power Plant in Sangamon County
PAWNEE, Ill. (WRSP) —
Plans to develop a new power plant in rural Sangamon County are moving foward. The county zoning board approved a request from Emberclear Corporate for a land-use change from agriculture to industrial. Up next for the proposed project is a public hearing scheduled for April 24th. The county board is expected to vote on May 9th to extrend tax breaks for the developers. The power plant would be built on an 80-acre site south of Pawnee. It approved, construction would start next year and wrap up by 2021.
