Springfield officer accused of beating teen appears in court
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WRSP) —
Former Springfield Police officer accused of beating a teenager was in court Friday.
Samuel Rosario is charged with one count of official felony misconduct and two misdemeanor battery charges.
The alleged incident happened in February of 2017.
The Illinois State Police said Rosario was investigating a domestic disturbance when he got into a fight with a 19-year-old.
The dispute was caught on his and his partner's body cameras.
Rosario is scheduled to be back in court on March 23 for a status hearing.
