Victim in Fatal East Keys Avenue Stabbing Identified
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WRSP) —
We now know the name of the person killed in a stabbing on Springfield's east side. Maurice Watts, age 36 of Springfield, was pronounced dead at HSHS St. John’s Hospital’s Emergency Room May 13 just before 3 a.m.
The coroner says White sustained multiple stab wounds while in the 2100 block of East Keys.
Springfield Police are investigating an early morning homicide on Springfield's north side.
Police responded to a reported stabbing in the 2000 block of East Keys Avenue just after 2 a.m. Saturday.
The Springfield Fire Department administered CPR on a male victim; he was later pronounced dead at St. John's Hospital.
The victim has not been identified yet.
