Unit 4 School District Teaching Students to be Safe Online
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCCU) —
Champaign Unit 4 School District is also teaching students how to be safe and aware when accessing the internet.
The staff said they have two layers of protection when it comes to technology in the schools.
They implemented a filter that can block any content online that the schools don't allow students to access.
Some of those blocked content includes Facebook, pornographic websites, and gaming sites.
“If they log into a computer anywhere using their school account, then they're automatically filtered through our filtering system," said, director of educational technology for the Champaign Unit 4 School District, David Hohman.
The district also advises parents to keep an eye on what their children may be up to online at home.
