Vermilion County Federation of Labor Parade
DANVILLE, Ill. (WCCU) —
Hundreds came to Danville Monday to watch the Vermilion County Federation of Labor Parade.
Dozens of floats and walkers participated, including football teams, dancers and some of us from Fox Champaign.
This was the 82nd year for the parade. Coordinators say it's an opportunity to take time to appreciate the hard work of those in the community.
"It's time we take a day off and we need to be proud of who we are and we just need to make sure that Vermilion County knows that we do support all of our hard workers here in this community,” said Connie Ostrander with Vermilion Federation of Labor.
The Labor Day holiday is meant to honor the hard working men and women that contribute to organized labor in the community.
