Warrensburg Petroleum Spill Isolated and Secure
WARRENSBURG, Ill. (WRSP) —
Wood River Pipe Lines has isolated, contained and secured the petroleum leak that occurred at a pipeline crossing on Hackney Road approximately one mile south of Warrensburg.
At this time repair, remediation and restoration plans are being implemented. Wood River expects to complete repairs and return the pipeline to service next week.
A Unified Command Center consisting of representatives from multiple agencies including the Macon County Sheriff’s Office, Macon County EMA, Warrensburg Fire Department, Warrensburg Police, Harristown Fire Protection District and The Illinois EPA has been operating since the discovery of the leak to facilitate the oversight of the cleanup.
Soil samples and well water in the area are being tested and monitored. There have been no injuries and no threats to public health or safety.
