Crime Stoppers Asks For Your Help To Raise Money With Trivia Night

Crime Stoppers helps bring victims to justice and now they're asking for your help to keep the program up and running. The 8th annual trivia night is set to be held at the Prairie Capital Convention Center on Saturday, Jan. 28. Doors open as early as 5:30 p.m. and trivia starts at 7 p.m.

Crime Stoppers uses anonymous tips from the community to help solve crimes. In exchange, the tipster gets cash. Officers say trivia night is a family-friendly event that helps them raise money to keep the program afloat. Just last year, the local chapter raised about $20,000. Officers say the proceeds help tremendously.

"We use this money to pay the tips that help take criminals off the street," said Crime Stoppers Officer Mike Badger. “Without the fundraiser we wouldn't be able to do what we do with Crime Stoppers. It's important the community supports it, but they have a good time too. They usually have no problem attending our event.”

Tickets are available at the door or you can buy them in advance by contacting Crime Stoppers at (217) 622-9547.
