Illinois Senate To Vote On Expanding Riverboat Casino Gambling
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WRSP) —
When the Senate returns they'll also vote on a proposal to expand riverboat casino gambling.
It's just one of the many ideas in the Senate's budget package to try and generate revenue.
Under the legislation, six casinos could be built across the state. It would also allow slot machines at Illinois’ remaining horse-racing tracks.
Critics are worried about public safety and an already saturated gambling market because of the explosion of video poker.
