Illini looks to limit big plays on the ground
CHAMPAIGN,ILL (WICS/WRSP) —
Illinois allowed 274 rushing yards last Saturday when the Illini fell to Rutgers 35-24. The team will look to tighten things up as they prepare for Minnesota.
"I think for us the biggest thing is to not give up the big explosive plays. We feel like after reviewing the tape, those are things that really hurt us. We got this week to get that all ironed out and get ready to get after it on Saturday." said Defensive Coordinator Hardy Nickerson.
Illinois (2-4,0-3) will face Minnesota (3-3,0-3) on Saturday October 21st. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
