$73k donated to the Simmons Cancer Institute
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WRSP) —
The Simmons Cancer Institute receiving a $73,000 donation from the Springfield Plastics Inc.
The donation is part of the 4th Annual Drain for the Cure Campaign that started in October.
Officials with Springfield Plastics said they are honored to help the Simmons Cancer Institute and its research to find a cure for cancer.
"Simmons goes a long way to take care of cancer patients every day but also the research that goes into that we're happy to be a part of,” Vice President of Operations Jennifer Furkin said.
Since the Drain the Cure Campaign started in 2014, it has raised $188,000 for the Simmons Cancer Institute.
