Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois offering colorectal screening kits to community

Springfield, IL — According to the American Cancer Society, colorectal cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in the United States for men and women. While an estimated 6,600 Illinoisans will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer this year, the good news is that colon cancer is highly treatable and often curable when found early. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois is hosting a Community Wellness event on March 18th at Downtown Springfield's YMCA., in an effort to spread awareness.

From 9 AM until Noon, Community members, aged 45 to 75 will get a Colorectal Cancer Screening kit of their own from BCBIL, whose experts will also be prepared o answer any questions. For more information click here.
