2016 Pumpkin Harvest Better Than Last Year

This year's pumpkin harvest is expected to be stronger than the last few years.

Crop experts at the University of Illinois says the pumpkins had enough rain and warmer temperatures made for good growing conditions.

Illinois is the country's top pumpkin-producing state.

About 90 percent of the pumpkins grown in the U.S. come from within a 90-mile radius of Peoria.

Last year, the pumpkin crop was so weak it caused a shortage.
