With area schools now back in session, Illinois State Police is warning drivers to slow down in school zones.

ISP wants drivers to be on the lookout for children walking, riding their bikes and darting out from between parked cars.

The speed limit in school zones is 20 miles per hour and is in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. when children are present.

If you don't obey the law, you could get a $150 fine and a three-month driver's license suspension.
