Gubernatorial candidate Chris Kennedy talks Illinois education

Gubernatorial candidate Chris Kennedy answers questions about upcoming election.

Newschannel 20 sat down for a one-on-one interview with Illinois Gubernatorial Democratic candidate Chris Kennedy.

He answered questions about an array of topics, including legalization of marijuana, health care, and education.

He said one of his priorities is to be able to help further education, as the future of the state is in the hands of Illinois’ youth.

"If we give the world highly educated young people, the world will give us its jobs, we're not doing that today in Illinois but if we do, we'll have the same outcomes as they do in places like Silicon Valley or Austin, Texas," Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Chris Kennedy said.

Kennedy's running mate is Ra Joy.

Kennedy is the son of former U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of president John F. Kennedy.

This is his first time running for an elective office.
