Sen. Duckworth not surprised by sexual harassment in politics
WASHINGTON, DC (WICS/WRSP) —
Illinois lawmakers are also weighing in on sexual harassment within the government.
We spoke with Senator Tammy Duckworth Wednesday, who says she's not surprised sexual harassment is happening in our government.
And says she dealt with sexual harassment herself while in the military.
Duckworth tells us sexual harassment will continue to be common in government and business until changes are made.
"Until we get more women into leadership roles, until we get more women into those governor’s mansions and into the corporate CEO boardrooms, into the top ranks of the U.S. military we're never going to get rid fully of sexual harassment and that's why it's important to promote diversity in all levels of any organizations we have in our country," Sen. Duckworth, D-Illinois, said.
