Central Illinois Food Bank, Pork Power donate 25,000 pork servings
As part of a 10-year partnership with the Central Illinois Food Bank, Pork Power is donating 25,000 servings of ground pork.
The donation will go to agencies in 15 counties across Illinois.
Each day, food banks provide access to healthy and nutritious food to keep families across Illinois from going to bed hungry.
"It could mean the difference between a family having protein at a meal or not, so I would encourage everyone when they have their Thanksgiving or holiday meal to think about others who may not have those items," Manager of the food bank Virginia Ferguson said.
This gift is part of a larger donation from the Pork Power Program, totaling more than 50,000 pounds of ground pork.
