CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCCU) —
The Champaign County Economic Development Corporation has announced its new executive director.
Assistant director, Carly McCrory will officially start on July first, replacing Craig Rost who is stepping down. McCrory said she looks forward to expanding the work and services the EDC has to offer to the community. Fox Champaign also asked McCrory her thoughts on the recent Supreme Court ruling on internet sales tax.
“The technology sector also manufacturing and distribution are often times the industries that we work in, but certainly that is a hot topic issue and one that we of course pay attention to because in the end it effects our retail environment here which is always good when it's strong and thriving because it adds to the quality of life aspect we have here,” McCrory said.
McCrory has been working with the EDC for 6 years.
