Residential Fire – 803 and 805 Bellepark Drive
Champaign, IL – The Champaign Fire Department responded to a working fire, dispatched as 803 Bellepark Drive, Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 2:14 p.m. Upon arrival on the scene, fire crews found a fully engulfed two-car detached garage, with fire extending into the homes at 803 and 805 Bellepark Drive.
A neighbor noticed the garage on fire and called 9-1-1. Firefighters arrived on the scene and deployed multiple hose lines to protect the two homes adjacent the garage and quickly extinguished the fire originating from the garage.
Residents at both 803 and 805 Bellepark Drive have been displaced because of this fire. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries reported. The cause of the fire remains undetermined as investigators continue their scene examination.
The Champaign Fire Department reminds all citizens to maintain a working smoke alarm in their place of residence and to have and practice a home escape plan. Smoke alarms can provide early notification when seconds count.

In Champaign, fire crews battled a garage fire in the 800 block of Belle Park Drive.
It started in the garage around 2 p.m.
Firefighters say high winds caused the flames to spread to the home next door, were some of the siding melted off of the house.
No one was hurt.
Crews continue to investigate.
