    Champaign police made an arrest in connection with an early morning shooting.

    The shooting incident occurred Monday, May 14 in the 1000 block of Harvard Street in north Champaign.

    Joseph Carpenter-Moore was arrested Wednesday in Savoy, Ill.

    Police said Moore allegedly fired a gun at two people in a domestic dispute.

    When arrested, police said they found drugs in his car and could smell cannabis.

    "Mr. Carpenter-Moore was found to be in possession of more than 300 grams of cannabis, three-and-a-half grams of expected ecstasy and $1,600 of cash. So, he was arrested without incident and taken to jail," Lt. Nathan Rath, of Champaign Police said.

    If convicted, he could serve six to 30 years behind bars.

    No serious injuries were reported in the shooting.
