Candidates vying for 13th Congressional seat come out for town hall
CHAMPAIGN, ILL. (WCCU) —
Four candidates running as Democrats in the 13th Congressional District participated in a town hall Thursday evening.
The Champaign County Young Democrats hosted the event at the Champaign Public Library.
The candidates included, Jon Ebel, Betsy Dirksen Londrigan, Erik Jones and Dr. David Gill.
The town hall gave the candidates a chance to tell voters their plans if elected, and why they're the best person to unseat current Republican Representative Rodney Davis in the general election.
"We do need a renewed sense of bipartisanship and I will certainly bring that to this job," 13th Congressional District Democratic candidate Jon Ebel said.
“We need somebody who is looking out for the families in this district and in our nation,” 13th Congressional District Democratic candidate Betsy Dirksen Londrigan said.
“We can change the direction of this country if the right people step forward and say they've had enough and that's what we're going to do,” 13th Congressional District Democratic candidate Erik Jones said.
“There's a lot of improving to be had to the people who live here in Illinois 13 and we can do it when we put the right people in Washington D.C.,” 13th Congressional District Democratic candidate Dr. David Gill said.
Voters in the 13th Congressional District cast their ballot in the primary election March 20.
