Construction taking place to reroute sanitary sewer
More construction is happening to help finish the underpasses on Ash Street.
It's part of the railroad improvement project and engineers said they are also working on rerouting a sanitary sewer.
As the crews will be digging where it is currently located, in order to set the underpass.
"If we don't abandon the sewer, constructing the bridges, it'll be high enough where if we need to dig underneath, it'll be exposed," Resident Engineer Nick Moore said. "We need to just get rid of this sewer."
The project started in October of 2017 and engineers said the timeline for the project to finish is up to three years from the start date.
