Danville police arrest two armed robbery suspects
Danville police has made arrests in the armed robberies of two Danville businesses.
Officers responded to the Circle K gas station July 9 at 2:28 a.m. in the 2600 block of N. Vermilion Street with a report of an armed robbery.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with an employee, who stated he was robbed by two men, one of which allegedly had a handgun.
The suspects also allegedly took an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes before fleeing the scene.
Police also responded on July 12 around 10:11 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery at Family Video, located in the 700 block of N. Gilbert Street.
Two men had allegedly robbed the business at gunpoint and took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene.
Danville detectives were able to determine that both robberies were connected, as one of the suspects was the same person in both incidents.
Authorities identified the suspect as Quintan Morton, 26, of Danville.
Danville detectives located Morton July 19 in the area of Center Street and Jackson Street, where he was arrested.
The second suspect from the Circle K armed robbery was identified by officials as Deontre Davis, 18, of Danville.
Davis was also taken into custody.
Both are being held at the Danville Public Safety Building on charges of armed robbery and are waitin arraignment in Vermilion County Court.
The investigation is still ongoing and officials are still looking for the second suspect involved in the Family Video robbery.
