The Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden identified victims discovered in a home in the 1300 block of Lape Street Thursday.

LaTrey Reed, 21, and Taniyah Williams, 20, both of Danville, were found at the scene.

According to the coroner, both suffered apparant gunshot wounds and autopsies are scheduled for later Thursday.


Danville police are investigation a shooting incident that has left two people dead Thursday morning.

Police were called to a residence in the 1300 block of Lape Street around 4:15 a.m.

"The caller reported that a male was lying on the floor and not breathing," Director of Public Safety Larry Thomason said.

"Entering the home, police found a male and a female lying on the floor in the in the residence and both appeared to be victims of gunshot wounds. There were two other persons in the home but were not injured.”

Police said the male is 21-years-old; the female is 20-years-old and both are residents of the home.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide.

No one is in custody as of now and police are continuing to interview neighbors and others who have more information on the incident.

The names of the victims have not yet been released, pending notification from the Vermilion County Coroner's Office.
