Danville home invasion suspects at large
The Danville Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred Friday.
Around 12:31 a.m. Danville Police Officers responded to a residence on the 1000 block of Koehn Street. for a report of a home invasion that had just occurred there. Upon arrival, officers located a 66-year-old Chicago man who had a gunshot wound to the right side of his torso. Witnesses stated the victim was shot when he confronted two male black subjects who had kicked in the door to the residence.
Danville Police learned the victim had been staying at the residence while it was being repaired.
The victim is in stable condition at an area hospital where he is still undergoing medical treatment.
The suspects were last seen running from the area where they left in an unknown direction. The suspects are described as both being male black in their late teens or early twenties. Both are between 5’8” – 6’0” tall and approximately 180-200 lbs.
Nothing was taken from the residence and no other injuries were reported. This investigation is ongoing and no more information is being released at this time.
