DEVELOPING|Water rescue dive teams and Sheriff's office searching Sangchris Lake

UPDATE 9:56 pm:

The Christian County Coroner's office has released the name of the man who drowned in Lake Sangchris. 30-year-old Kenneth Christopher "Chris" Adkins of Tuscola was recovered by dive team personnel at 5:01 P.M. on 10/21/2017.

After an all-day search, officials have located the body of a missing boater on Lake Sangchris in Christian County.

The Illinois Conservation police say multiple local agencies assisted in the recovery.

Friday night, a boat with two men started filling with water.

One of the men was able to swim to shore, while the other was not.

Friends close to the victim are heartbroken.

"Well we're heartbroken,” said Lori York, whose daughter is best friends with the victim. “My daughter she passed out and I guess she was going to head to the emergency and her friends are doing it the best they know how to do right now.”

The victim was recovered by the Sangamon County Rescue Squad.

They say the victim’s clothes and shoes, as well as the lake's current, could have played a factor in his death, but nothing is certain.

The Christian County Coroner is scheduled to do the autopsy at a later date.
