Duckworth Campaigns At Closed Event In Springfield
Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth spoke to the IBEW conference Thursday in Springfield, but the event was closed to the press.
Her campaign stop comes after her endorsement from the Chicago Tribune.
Before her event, she stopped by the State Journal-Register's editorial board.
We asked her what she discussed with the union workers while she was in town Thursday.
"I was here to talk to the IBEW, which is the electricians union talking about some of the training programs that I have managed to pass that provide training for veterans to become electricians in the military so they can get the certifications and jobs when they come out into the civilian world,” said," said Rep. Tammy Duckworth. “Talking about the need to support working families and education like making community college affordable and allow students to refinance their student loan debt.”
Duckworth also gave her opinion on the last presidential debate, saying Donald Trump is unfit to be commander in chief.
