Governor Bruce Rauner making another stop on his Fix Illinois Tour.
Tuesday, Rauner toured Cope Plastics in Alton and met with employees.
The Governor's focus during Tuesday's visit was to discuss how to increase job growth throughout the state.
During his tour Rauner emphasized how important Illinois businesses, like Cope Plastics, are to growing the state's economy. However, the gridlock at the Capitol is keeping Illinois from succeeding.
“We should be kicking tails. We should be one of the fastest growing states, most prosperous states, with rising family incomes and jobs being created all over the place,” said Governor Bruce Rauner, R-Illinois. “Except we got these career politicians in Springfield, most of them from Chicago, who have a lock on it. They don't care about you, they worried about their political buddies.”
Other topics the Governor discussed included strengthen the school system as well as improving career and technical training for those entering the work force.
