Jacksonville students start school year in new building
On Wednesday, students at Jacksonville Middle School began their school year in a newly renovated building.
Since May of 2016, the school has been going through major renovations. This includes tearing down the old walls and redoing the entire building. It’s a project costing around $26 million.
“There are some changes, but it’s an exciting day, it’s all about orienting them to the new programs we have here and the building itself,” said Jacksonville Middle School principal Beth Brockschmidt.
The project is not yet complete. Construction is still happening throughout the building.
