Transit bus catches fire in Decatur Friday

DECATUR, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — Decatur Fire Department responded to East Maryland Street behind Kroger for a bus fire Friday.

The bus caught fire around 10:30 a.m.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire within minutes of arrival.

The driver and all of the passengers were able to evacuate safely. No injuries were reported.

The Decatur Fire Department and the Mass Transit District are investigating the cause of the fire.
