Moms Demand Action to host spa day for gun violence survivors
Saturday will be a day of healing for survivors of gun violence. Champaign's Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is hosting a spa day dedicated to those who have been affected by gun violence.
The free event will include food, workshops, massages and gift baskets. Organizers said the day is for people to meet each other and share support.
“We’ll give them information about trauma and education,” survivor network lead of Champaign’s Moms Demand Action, Janice Walker said. “Survivors from gun violence will come together and we will meet one another if we don't already know each other and let each other know that this is a time for healing.”
Although the event is geared toward survivors, everyone in the community is welcome. It is from 12PM to 3PM Saturday at the Champaign Public Health District.
