SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) -- Springfield is under a winter storm warning as snow continues to fall.
Meteorologist Joe Crain said that around 10:30 a.m., the Capital City has already seen about 8 inches of snow.
NewChannel20 reporter Ana Espinosa saw several cars stopped on the road after getting stuck because of the snow.
Everyone is advised to stay off the roads unless it is an emergency.
Meteorologist Joe Crain said Springfield could see up to a foot of snow and if that does happen it would be the biggest snow fall since January 2014 when the city saw 9.6 inches of snow.
