New At Home Program For Seniors Taking Medications
The state is launching a trial program for seniors where pharmacists will visit them at home to make sure they're taking the right medications.
The Illinois Department on Aging said the program will hopefully cut down on emergency visits and nursing home admissions linked to medication problems.
Up to 2,000 older adults will be enrolled.
Its goals include reducing medication errors and improving quality of life.
Participants will be 60 years old and older.
The program launches next Thursday.
