The Senate Veterans Affairs Committee invited Illinois's Department of Health, Department for Veteran's Affairs and Rauner's administration to answer questions on Tuesday.

The major question was, why they didn't take immediate action after receiving an engineering report on the home in 2016?

The question was never answered because neither the departments or the administrations showed up.

Committee members are trying to allocate how much it will cost to improve the water system.

The members were not happy about the no-show.

"We are in a hurry to get this done," said Senator William Haine. "They have the facts, they need to make a decision and get it done. People are suffering."

The Illinois Department of Veteran's Affairs and Public health say they didn't get enough notice about the meeting.
