November Election Could Impact The Rest of Gov. Rauner's Term
The November election may determine whether Democrats can impose their will on Governor Rauner or if the Republicans gain traction with ideas to shake up the state.
The parties have been fighting over a state budget for more than a year and each side has millions of dollars devoted to races that could define the remaining two years of Rauner’s term.
Democrats control the House, but they are trying to get a veto-proof majority to pass their own budget.
Rauner insists his reforms are needed to help the state’s economy.
